Random Winter Nights
The wind scrapes off dry skin from my arms; It's bitter chill unnerving my joints. My teeth are threatening to chatter together, Despite my numb fingers & toes. My clothes are too thin to be outside on me. So I extend my arms & wrap my abdomen. I close my eyes & ignore iced head As it numbs on my neck like a block. One thought keeps me warm on this very night, An embrace that could remedy all chills. It livens my lips & stretches my cheeks, As a deep & satisfying smile is released. I open my eyes, feel the wind through my hair, And imagine those to be his soothing fingers. I feel the wind caress my cheeks & my forehead, And visualize his palms cupping my face. I stare at the dancing nature that surrounds me. I can feel it's shivering insides resonating with me. The dance is enhanced by its moonlit shadows, And the cloudy dark sky against its movements.
