Detailed Fascination

It only occurred to me this evening the extent to which I am intrigued with human nature. What surprises me the most is the human desire for contact . Yet what drives us is usually life in its independent form . We make our own decisions, we develop our own ways of thinking and choose the morals and philosophies by which we live. But ... having said that...  take a step back and ask yourself, " how is it that we cannot control our own emotions?" Often I wonder whether, if we could all develop the same stamina and discipline as a Volken, we would still have all the idiosyncrasies that we each have individually. I cannot see how uniqueness and ingenuity would be harvested in such a community. Nevertheless, I just want to say something about my musing regarding "attraction" . What is attraction ? It is the synergy of physical energies between two beings on a physical and sometimes emotional level. This is why age and intellect often do not play a part in this sp...

Believe: It's the Small Things that Count As Well!

I have always believed that the true nature of mankind is beautiful. It was only later on when I begun my spiritual discovery that I realised Buddha supported this by describing mankind's innate nature as "enlightened" (because "Buddha" means "the enlightened one"). One of the most exciting things about life is watching Life roll out and confirming my beliefs. I especially love it when this belief is confirmed. One of those stories I will share with you. On Friday last week, 22 March 2013, after work, I stopped at a traffic light and noticed that there were two "beggars", one was covered with a blanket, holding a cup, and walking from car to car asking for help. The other one was sitting beside one of the traffic lights. Normally, I give people food, whether it is my packed lunch for the day or whether it is leftovers. This time, the only items I had in my lunch box were two "Fresh Fruit Cups" of sliced mango pieces....

Thailand: A Culture Shock (2013 Wish For You)

Over the December 2012 / January 2013 holiday period, I was blessed to be able to spend it with my father and brother in Phuket, Thailand . It was the most expressive holiday I have ever experienced. It helps that I was at had quite a self-aware and spiritual mind set to be able to take cognisance of the information I will divulge later on. More than anything, I learned quite a few lessons about life and its inhabitants. Upon my departure from Thailand, apart from the weather, certain realisations occurred to me and it is the content of these realisations that I would like to share with you. Firstly, the lifestyle: Thai people live a basic but satisfactory life on minimal earnings and equally minimal debt. The agricultural sector of Thailand forms just under 41% of its market industry, including its imports and exports. The Thai people that live in the agricultural areas are especially accustomed to making use of their own resources in order to sustain a modest yet comfo...

The Bare Naked Truth of Life Thus Far

First and foremost: I would not be able to do this if it were not for the numerous transformations from spiritual causes that I have undergone. The most important transformation of all is that I have been humbled by the truth. This year is coming to an end and thinking about the culmination of yet another year of my life has summonsed me to take an introspective and bird’s eye view of myself and my historic life. As a child, I was a naughty girl. I had a bad attitude deserving of many a punishment. I was cheeky, outspoken, instinctual, impulsive, brash, and boisterous. I was every mother’s nightmare, including my own. I was a problematic child with deep-seated silly problems such as jealousy, anger, and pride (which later developed into arrogance and hypocrisy). As I grew up, I became worse by the year because I felt misunderstood. The people who I cared about most in the world were the same people who misunderstood me to the severest degree. This was my perspective and b...

Just the confirmation I needed!

Hi Readers Many of you do not know that I have been doubting my suitability as an Attorney ("Solicitor") over the past year (for many reasons). I have been asking the Universe for an indication of which route I should follow and where I need to start my journey to reach my Life's Purpose. This past week was one of those beautiful moments in one's life when one simply cannot ignore the wryness of one's situation. I had run my first High Court trial on Thursday (a particularly acrimonious and messy divorce). There were several hurdles to overcome. For instance, the Registrar of the Court simply decided to change our court date two weeks before the original trial date without notifying any of the parties. Had I not attended at Court in order to index, paginate, and collate our Court file, I would not have ascertained this change in the Court date. My opponent was relying on me to ensure our readiness for trial (albeit incorrectly so). There were several conseq...

PM // RM - SUCCESS STORY FOR THE KIDS

In April 2012, I met PM at Randburg Court where she asked me to help her with her divorce. So we set up a consult and she brought her two children with her, P and S. At the time, she mandated me in respect of an unopposed divorce and thus I drafted a settlement agreement and sent it to her husband, RM, on 5 April 2012 which was just before the long Easter weekend. It was over this weekend when all the drama started. At the time, PM had only recently relocated up to Johannesburg (with P and S) while RM still lived in Durban. PM (in good faith) agreed to let RM take the kids to Durban for the Easter weekend so RM came up to JHB to fetch them and he flew down with them down to Durban. However, on the Saturday, RM had indicated to PM that he would not be returning the children to her. So we prepared an urgent application to have the kids returned to her care. However, client ended up going to Durban with her folks to try fetching the children herself. What transpired thereafter was...

Chasing the Moon

31 July 2012 Tonight, the Moon is at its fullest. It is surrounded by a speckled yet beautifully smooth array of clouds. A silvery glimmer has been draped across the Earth's landscape, which is as a result of the moonlight dancing with the clouds. I am left with an alluring and charismatic sense of intensity... While the Moon is out as it is tonight, it acts as the Queen of the Sky. She owns it and all of its inhabitants; she owns the Earth and can mesmerise anyone who dares to look at her for longer than is necessary. Admire her, you may, but show the woman respect and she will nurture you as a Mother would a child... I often speak to the Moon in the hopes that one day, she will show me the journal she kept of the times she had heard my ramblings and mused to even comment on it. I do this because it is calming and for no other reason - well, no other legitimate reason. I would never underestimate or even downplay another person's belief... so I will apply this ...
