Something I discovered one night...
Life is not about finding yourself...it's about CREATING yourself.
What might also frighten you is how much you believed that at this moment, given the opportunity to think about that sentence.
Nobody ever knows what they are destined to be when they are born.
It's about the steps you take in CREATING your own destiny.
How can life be about finding something that was never lost?
When you take upon those challenges, you do certain things you WANT to do in order to find yourself by CREATING it!
If your life and your personality were all a treasure map, a riddle with barely enough clues to get you halfway, then surely you would be lost in a maze of thoughts and directions, therefore unable to continue the construction of yourself.
You become pessimistic and soon create depressing situations for yourself as you lie on the floor of life, locked in it like a prison.
What you need to do is change your mindset and acknowledge that it is your perception that affects your world around you.
When you can understand, for instance, that when someone is having a rotten day and you just happen to be that person's punching bag, that person might be vulnerable to your reactions & facial/bodily expressions. That person might perceive things differently to the way you intended it to appear. The same might apply to you.
How did I learn this? I have been in a situation where my perceptions led me to believe that the world is my enemy & I am my only defence. I need to be on my guard all the time & perceive things in a reactive manner. Recently, I came to the understanding, with Divine assistance, that I (without intention) communicate my perceptions through my body language, facial expressions, and even my routine habits.
This first acknowledgment was the hardest step to take. From here on, I anticipate it will become much easier...
